International Flamingo Day

World Penguin Day 2 - International Flamingo Day

Join us at Birdland Park & Gardens on Sunday 26 April for a colourful celebration of one of the world’s most recognisable birds.

Our vibrant flock of flamingos are always a highlight, known for their striking pink feathers, social nature and elegant displays. Visitors can enjoy watching their natural behaviours up close, from their famous one-legged stance to group interactions and preening rituals.

The day includes two flamingo feeding displays at 11:30am and 4:00pm, offering a great opportunity to learn more from our knowledgeable keepers about their diet, care and fascinating adaptations.

With the breeding season approaching, it’s also an especially interesting time to visit. Discover how flamingos prepare for this important period and gain insight into their behaviour both in the wild and here at Birdland.

Daily talks with our expert keepers will explore what gives flamingos their iconic colour, how they live in their natural habitats, and the conservation efforts helping to protect them.

A perfect day out for families, wildlife enthusiasts and anyone looking to enjoy nature in a unique and engaging setting.
