Jurassic Journey

Calling all Dinosaur Hunters, Fossil Fanatics and Potential Palaeontologists! Embark on an adventure in the Jurassic Journey here at Birdland Park and Gardens.

Transporting you back more than 65 million years ago to when dinosaurs roamed the Cotswolds. On this prehistoric expedition, you’ll encounter life-size dinosaurs hidden amongst the flora and above in the tree canopy.

Which Dinosaurs will you meet?

Track Brachiosaurus, Spinosaurus, Postosuchus, Velociraptors in the Jurassic Journey trail. There are over 30 different species of dinosaurs ranging from a metre-long baby stegosaurus to a 5-metre tall brachiosaurus.

Other species to look out for will be the spectacular flying Pteranodon flying above you. Plus the Allosaurus, and the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex, one of the most daunting dinos. You’ll also be able to spot giant dinosaur eggs along with complete dinosaur skeletons.

Uncover Fossils

Along the trail, visitors will be able to have a go at searching for fossils in the Dino Dig. Here there are activity tables to learn more about dinosaurs. Future Palaeontologists will be able to try their hand at excavating fossils and examining what species such as ammonites.

The Jurassic Journey also serves as a reminder that Birdland’s feathered residents are the direct decedents of the dinosaurs on display. Meet Birdland’s ratites, prehistoric-looking birds, and will be able to spot the similarities between the live birds and the dinosaurs.
