Dinosaur Weekend at Birdland

Jurassic Journey at Birdland Park & Gardens

Dinosaur hunters and budding palaeontologists can enjoy a weekend of prehistoric fun and adventure at Birdland over the May Bank Holiday (Apr 30 – May 2).

Travel back 65 million years to when dinosaurs roamed the Cotswolds and discover the Jurassic Journey at Birdland Park & Gardens, in Bourton-on-the-Water.

Come face to face with more than 30 different prehistoric species, enjoy a fun quiz trail and get hands-on in the Dino Dig, perfect for fossil fanatics.

There are more than 30 different species of dinosaurs to see, ranging from a metre-long baby Stegosaurus to a five-metre-tall Brachiosaurus.

Visitors will also need to look out for a Spinosaurus, Postosuchus, Velociraptor, a group of Dilophosaurus, the spectacular flying Pteranodon and the mighty Tyrannosaurus Rex, as well as dino-eggs and skeletons.

In addition to the Jurassic Journey and Dino Weekend fun, there will be all of the usual daily events happening at Birdland including keeper talks, interactive learning in the Close Encounters Area, and feedings displays with the penguins, pelicans and flamingos.

With its combination of woodland, riverside and gardens, Birdland features more than 500 birds, ranging from birds of prey and parrots to cassowaries and cranes in a mix of free-flying and aviary displays.
