Distribution: Angola, Africa.
Diet: Fruits and shoots.
An exclusively African family of birds, the touracos are tree dwelling birds of forest and savannah.
They are a brightly coloured combination of greens, reds and blues and are very agile, hopping and running along branches with short bursts of flight. Although they fly quite well, their wings are short for bursts of flight from tree to tree high in the canopy of the forest. Whilst foraging for food they use their long legs for running along the branches of trees.
