Occipital Blue Pie
Also known as the Red-billed Blue Magpie. Like other magpies and jays they will use their powerful feet to clutch pieces of food and tear at them. It does not appear to like holding wet or sticky food in its feet and will place these in a crevice and hack at it with its beak.
Another typical aspect of magpies is their movement on the ground.
They do not walk but hop forwards and sometimes sideways to investigate any food source always holding their tail raised to avoid it being soiled.
Distribution: Western Himalayas.
Diet: fruit, eggs, chicks, small mammals and insects.
